What To Bring to Jr. Moviemakers: Superheroes
Camp Checklist
Camp Breakdown
Day 1 - Story Building
Campers create a collaborative superhero story using improv games such as charades, mirror exercises, emotions games, and one-sentence stories. They build acting confidence and then split into small groups to explore characters and scenes.
Day 2 - Behind the Scenes
Students draw storyboards, craft sets and simple construction-paper costumes, and learn the basics of filming. They continue shaping their scenes through guided rehearsal and storytelling games.
Day 3 - Lights, Camera, Action!
Campers rehearse, play fast improv warm-ups, and film their superhero scenes. The camp ends with a fun Oscars celebration where everyone showcases their movie.
What are the Creator Camp Oscars?
At the end of the three days, every camper at each camp will convene to showcase their best project. This is an important time for the students to feel proud of their work and to realize that it has a real impact.
