In this six-class online workshop, young creators dive into the exciting world of songwriting—learning how to craft lyrics, shape melodies, and bring their ideas to life using simple creative tools. Through fun games, guided writing prompts, and hands-on music-making, students discover how their thoughts and feelings can become real songs.

Our online courses are interactive, teacher-led workshops held once a week over Zoom, with each session lasting 1 hour. Scheduled every week on a convenient weekday from 6-7 pm Central Time. During each session, the teacher will guide students through exciting activities, fostering both creativity and learning!

Weekly Breakdown
Week 1 - Songwriting Foundations
Students explore what makes a great song, learn about hooks and verses, and create their first two-line hook. They experiment with emojis, rhyming tools, and creativity warm-ups to spark ideas.
Week 2 - Building a Song Story
Students learn how to turn ideas into lyrics using a simple "Feeling → Picture → Action" structure. Through games and visual prompts, each student completes a rough four-line verse.
Week 3 - Melodies Made Easy & Intro to Demo
Students discover how melodies work through fun vocal and humming exercises. Using simple tech tools like Chrome Music Lab or voice recorders, they create their first melody sketch. Then they learn the basics of the Demo app and begin shaping their song inside the platform.
Week 4 - Building the Song & Final Showcase
Students refine their lyrics and melodies, arrange their song sections inside Demo, add beats, and improve timing. They complete their mini-song, apply final touches, and export their finished project. The course ends with a fun showcase where students share their work and celebrate their creative achievements.
