What To Bring to Jr. Moviemakers: Fantasy Realm
Camp Checklist
Camp Breakdown
Day 1 - Story Building
Campers create a collaborative fantasy storyline using improv activities like charades, mirror games, emotions prompts, mad-lib scripts, and one-sentence stories. They practice acting skills and break into small groups to begin shaping their magical scenes.
Day 2 - Behind the Scenes
Students draw storyboards, craft simple fantasy props and costumes, and learn the basics of filming. They rehearse scenes through guided games, readers theatre, and character exploration.
Day 3 - Lights, Camera, Action!
Campers rehearse, and film their scenes across their fantasy world. The camp ends with an exciting Oscars celebration where creators showcase their finished movie.
What are the Creator Camp Oscars?
At the end of the three days, every camper at each camp will convene to showcase their best project. This is an important time for the students to feel proud of their work and to realize that it has a real impact.
