Day 1 - Story Selection & Script Writing Begins

Campers will review a slide on film script terminology and directions. They will follow a screenplay writing template to fill in a story of their choosing. The instructor will guide them as they go along with various on screen examples. Examples will vary depending on age, and mental development. Campers will have the choice to use a story that they already have if they want to.

Day 1 - Story Selection & Script Writing Begins Activity

Day 2 - Diving Deeper & Acting Exercises

Campers will dive deeper into their scripts, re-writing if needed. They will participate in acting exercises to fully bring their characters to life, understanding the importance of what and when a character should speak.

Day 2 - Diving Deeper & Acting Exercises Activity

Day 3 - Finalizing Scripts & Table Reads

Campers will finalize their short scripts and begin table reads. They will film their own script as a short film, understanding the importance of when and how a scene should be shot.

Day 3 - Finalizing Scripts & Table Reads Activity

Day 4 - Complete Table Reads & Final Showcase

Students will complete all table reads. They will leave class with a completed script that they can then continue outside of class, or shoot into an actual film. They will also have a video of their script acted out by the class.

What are the Creator Camp Oscars?

At the end of the three days, every camper at each camp will convene to showcase their best project. This is an important time for the students to feel proud of their work and to realize that it has a real impact.
