BandLab Beat Makers
In this weekly online class, creators learn how modern music is produced as they build original beats, layer melodies, and turn their ideas into finished songs using BandLab, a free browser-based music studio.
Each week, campers explore a new production skill, from drum patterns and loops to melodies, mixing, and song structure, and create a brand new beat they can share by the end of every session. Sessions are beginner-friendly and self-contained, so creators can jump in any week on any device with a web browser. No downloads or experience needed, just curiosity and maybe some headphones.

Our online courses are interactive, teacher-led workshops held once a week over Zoom, with each session lasting 1 hour. Scheduled every week on a convenient weekday from 6-7 pm Central Time. During each session, the teacher will guide students through exciting activities, fostering both creativity and learning!

Week 1 - Beat Builders
Campers dive into the fundamentals of rhythm as they learn the beat grid and build their first drum patterns from scratch in BandLab. They experiment with kicks, snares, and hi-hats to shape their own groove, and every creator leaves with an original beat they made that day.
Week 2 - Melody Makers
Creators bring their beats to life with melodies, basslines, and layered loops. They explore BandLab's sounds and instruments to find their signature style, learning how producers stack layers so every part of a track works together.
Week 3 - Track Architects
Campers learn how real producers arrange a song, shaping their track into intros, builds, and drops. They balance their sound with simple mixing so everything hits clean, and hear their beat transform into a full song from start to finish.
Week 4 - Studio Stars
Creators add the finishing touches that make a track feel complete, then it's time for the Beat Drop, a showcase where campers play their finished songs for the group and celebrate everyone's music.
